Enamelled Chandeliers

Enamelled chandeliers are produced using complicated and delicate techniques. The glass decoration methods are very demanding, requiring highly skilled crystal decorators.
First of all, liquid gold is spread onto the glass part of the chandelier (the bowl or sphere). After firing, the sheen of this base is softened by the glass color, thereby giving a satiny glint of the covered gold.
After a second firing, highly enamelled paint is applied to the base. The decorator applies the enamel in small colour drops, from which he then creates the foliage and flowers. Leaves, stalks and buds are then created using white. Designs are shaded in various colors to round out the overall effect of the chandelier. The raised color is painted on in arabesques and palmettes. During firing at 550-560°C the colors and glass surface are fixed.
After a third firing, the painters decorate the raised paint with gold, making gold veins in the leaves and spots in the flowers, ready for a fourth and final firing of the chandelier.
Each competed chandelier is original and unique, because all are hand crafted by Czech glassworkers and decorators. Highly enamelled chandeliers give a beautiful golden gleam to your interior, enhanced by the exquisite beauty of the painted design.
